Very useful training videos! Thanks so much for sharing!
Is there any way to create multiple pivot tables from a singular query? I love the process of creating an amended query, but I would like this one query to be the source for several pivot tables. Is that possible?
Omgosh! You have helped me tremendously!
Jon, I've been using Excel for decades, but I never realized you could double-click on the Format Painter to repeat use. What an awesome revelation. That example was my favorite. Keep up the great videos!
Great video. Really useful tips in day to day working. Thanks John.
Format painter lock mode was something I did not know! That will save some time for sure👏
macros is a great tool to now use thanks
I'm searching for the opposite of this : how to automate indentations based on different conditions ( for example , level 1 of a Work Breakdown Schedule will have a different indentation from the level 2 of a WBS)
Thank you 😮
my slicers doesn't work on my file. I have version 16.86 and my text on slicers is like tiny dots..i can't read the text. I'm unable to change the font size. it's grayed!. please help
Wow. I learned half a dozen new things in one video! Thank you!
Thank you.. You are one channel that I follow, and have helped me when I really did need some tips.. I rely not only on the UA-cam channel, but also a fan of your bog post
Great! As an Accountant, I am learning a lot that I did not know. You are a very good teacher. I totally apricate. How can I be part of all your lessons? Maybe alerts for new lessons will work for me...
So many nice tips hard to choose which one is the most useful
Lock Drawing Mode -> woww, thanks Jon! ;-)
One of the captions is reversed: "convert Excel to PDF"
Oh, thank you !❤
Found this one SO interesting/useful - using it for weekly reports that have a couple of consecutive steps to run 👍
So many new tips. I like the right-click on sheet arrows to get the sheet list. I use an add-in to create an index page and usually use that, but this is quick. As always, great job!
Thank you
F2 to switch between edit and enter mode is just what I’ve been looking for - always thought it wasn’t possible to go back to navigating by arrows after entering the initial formula 😂
Thank you
In which version of excel it works
Thank you very much! The select objects tip is my favorite- did not know that one!
Another of my favorite time savers!
In the late 1960's, a colleague and I at our university developed a programming language for use in our laboratory. By the time we were done, we had added so many bells and whistles to the language that there was no need to apologize when we chose to add another, overlapping or duplicating capability. We had nothing on Excel, which may even have more Easter Eggs and such than Word, which is really saying something. Archeologists will no doubt one day dig down and find that this program can even add a column of numbers. Who knew?
Although I still don't like to use the mouse too much, a lot of the double click tips are worth incorporating. On a side note: I'm mousing left, so I'm used to translating 'right click' to 'left click' and vice versa. But better words would be "selection button" (my right) and "context button" (my left).
God bless Microsoft for introducing, at last, regular expressions, the formulas to extract string pattern were truly monstrous.
This used to be one of my favorite tools until Excel advanced (I think the FILTER function is now my favorite). My only real problem with Text-to-Columns is the single-character split. So, sure CSV were easy files/data to convert, but comma-separated lists-like names- always needed more work (TRIM) to be complete, and it was always manual initiation.
Amazing
Hands down, this is the Excel tips video with the most and greatest tips in the short period of time. Nicely done!
Your explanation is excellent 👌 thank you so much, it easy to follow and understand❤
I started a new job and this helped me a lot Thank you!
You are very, very good, I think this tips are very usefull. Thanks
Such a great new function! Too bad it doesn't play well with BYROW. Sometimes it works under circumstances i have yet to fully determine, but mostly they're incompatible. But, if you have TEXTJOIN external to a table and use s structured reference to the columns, works fine with BYROW. But range specification, pretty much forget it. (Again, no rhyme or reason why it very occasionally works but rarely).
Top tip... Don't have too many sheets per workbook!
Shortcut
Edit & F2
Jon, I just reviewed one of your VLOOKUP tutorials on YT. In my own data, I am looking up a value on sheet A from a range of data on sheet B. I followed your EXACT format from your example of a category of product and region for a sales rep that you used. =VLOOKUP(A2,marketingorglisting!A2:E213,5,TRUE) A2 is the value on sheet A. As you can see, A2:E213 is the table_array on sheet B, called marketingorglisting. Column 5 on sheet B is what I want to put in my resultant cell. I have tried both TRUE and FALSE but still get #N/A. I have confirmed that the format of the columns on sheet A and sheet B are the same format (Number). Still no joy. Any suggestions? Please advise. Thanks. P.S. - Great approach and clarity in your video.
As always, great job John. I especially liked being able to add the sheet number to the status bar. 👍 Also, starting at 2:18, I like how we can select cells like that.
I keep on getting #value - please help
I have no comment to leave
The zoom out for named ranges is very helpful
Short cuts 😊
Thank you so much, Jon. Finally, I have created a report without any struggles and within less time of more than 7,000 data. 😊.
Could you provide practice file to follow along. Thanks
Locking format painter. Mind blown
For me also the lock the drawing tool was outstanding. I discovered it also works in word! Great tip
Cool! I don't think I've ever tried it in Word. Also works in PowerPoint. Thanks for sharing! 🙌
double click the format tool... great!!! very useful.
Great video
